New uses for an 'old' workhorse

As part of our phased roll-out of our ciSUITE: v2 functionality, ciSUITE: is being put to new use as a content engine and data gathering tool for interactive CD-ROM's.

Combining our extensive experience in Content Management with an equally wide knowledge of CD-ROM development, Creative Intersection is now successfully using various modules in ciSUITE: to gather and leverage data for use on interactive CD-ROMs.

Options abound when a CD-ROM project starts down the road of using dynamic data to create or maintain disc content. Some examples of how ciSUITE: can be used with CD-ROM's include:

  • Gather information for industry capabilities database CD-ROM's ... Using ciSURVEY: to allow individuals or companies to enter data which can later be converted to a format which can be used on the CD-ROM to allow search and display of information.
  • Create a "flat" version of a website using custom "grabber" functionality added to ciSUITE: ... Data can be entered into a templated shell by relatively unskilled staff, resulting in low cost of data entry with high consistency of design - the flat website is then placed on CD, along with an appropriate interface.
  • Live data to keep a CD-ROM "alive" long after its normal Use By date ... Live data, managed by ciSUITE: can be inserted into the CD-ROM presentation when used with an internet-enabled computer - resulting in a seamlessly updated content experience.
  • Product database and/or catalogue ... using ciCART: means maintaining product information is simple, and the data can be converted straight into a format which the CD-ROM can use - including images, category referencing, and even stock availability (through live data integration)

So, if you're considering using a CD-ROM to send out information to your existing or potential customers, why not consider how you could use ciSUITE: to make life a little simpler.
